Today was a good, but exhausting day. Roy, Lanell, Bob, Diane, and I started out to paint at Lost Maples around 9:00 am. It was surprisingly warm the morning, painting was good, there were lots of beautiful places to paint. A stream with a trickling waterfalls, and trees with amazing colors.
The maple Trees were brilliant yellow & red, My first painting was on the Maple trail, about one mile in. We were able to find a beautiful display of color.
Roy, LaNell and I painted together for about 2hrs. There were many people stopping to talk. At times it was somewhat distacting having to stop an talk, but everyone was very nice. The painting featured above was from the bank of the Frio River. We were allow to paint on private land where the river was strong and proud. This scene caught my eye because of the reflections in the water, and the colors in the bank. This painting was done with only four colors in 2 hrs. I have not limited my palette before. But is was a good experience. One I think I will try agan.
