Painting in downtown Denver last week was great fun. I spent 3 days hiking around the city in search of plein air subjects. "The View from parking space #66", inspired me with its strong shadows. I also responded to the contrast of the old buildings versus the modern ones. The powerlines also add to everything one needs for a good city scape "en plein air."
This was the first High Plein Air Arts Competion in Denver. The Golden Triangle Area show will start November 2. If you will be in the Denver area, check out the paintings of over 100 plein air artists painting the city.
This competion was well planned with good food, and lots of activities for the all artists. Thanks to all the Galleries, Cafe's, and Nightspots who catered to the plein air artists. It was great fun!!! For more info go to: www.gtmd.org
