This painting was painted in the Pike National Forest.  I was looking for a spot to paint aspens, when I saw this area.  I loved this view with the mountain peaking through the trees.  So I set up, and started painting.  About 30 min. into the painting,  I see what I thought was a stump start to move.

You got it!!! It was a bear.  Well to make the story short.  I saw him, he saw me, we both screamed, and ran away!  It scared me so, I left for the day.  This painting was done in the same location 2 days later!  I turned and looked everytime I heard a stick crack!!! But no Bears in site!  But I think my painting turned out rather nice!  Maybe I should paint scared more often.  Not!!!
