What is it about aspen trees?  Is it the delicate leaves that flicker in the wind, the contrast of the black and white bark, or the way they change colors in the fall.  I think it's all of the above!  Aspen trees are wonderful to paint, they have so much character.  Today the leaves are starting to turn yellow, at high elevations.

I painted at about 10,000 ft.  in the Pike National forest in Colorado, and spots of yellow aspens are starting to show.  It should really be beautiful in about a weeks time.   Some of the aspens in this area, are the tallest I have seen.  Magestic thay are!!!
