Artist Statement:

          Art is about the personal exploration of the subject and the materials one uses to create it.  Regardless of
whether the subject is something simple or as inspiring as the beauty of the human body, it has to speak to me in some
way.  I have to feel empathy towards it and desire to form a relationship.
          As a plein air painter, I strive to paint from life.  It is my goal to record the natural forms and colors provided by
direct observation.  Plein air painting is always challenging, never boring, and constantly teaches me to see in new
ways.   Through plein air painting I feel alive, it stimulates my creativity and my soul.
